Opteron 248+ Performance encoding using DVD shrink

What kind of performance gain (or loss) would be expected going from 2.66HGz Xeons to Opteron 248/250?

Long titles (>220 minutes) which require considerable compression will use close to 100% (all four logical processors!) when encoding. At least the software is SMP aware and utilises this feature very well!

I have a big job coming up that could justify purchasing a system based on this alone!
