Opteron 175

What is the maximum HT link can go on this Opteron 175? With my FX60, I've pushed it up to 1300, but i can't remember what the max is on the Opterons. They advertise 1000 HT link.

And if i have to lower the HT link, how does it effect performance? Thanks for your time

Maxing the HT link speed provides no substantial increase in performance. Even if you can push it much higher, I'd keep it at 1000Mhz or lower for stability.

Max HT speed usually has more to do with your motherboard then processor, I believe. My Abit board maxed out around a 320mhz HT speed before stability became an issue. I'd usually just run 300mhz with a 3x hypertransport link and the 9x multiplier on my Opteron 165.

Doin some overclockin now. With the multi locked at 11, fsb is 255 510Mhz effective @ 2805 and stable the past 10 min OCCT. What I'm curious about is it auto'd the HTT or HT link (can someone explain those to me) ...it auto'd the link to 400 and it bumped it up to 510 - what does this mean in terms of performance and in general?

HTT is just the AMD equivalent of Intel's FSB. "HT link" or HT multiplier on most boards, is the multiplier that determines your total HT bus speed, when multiplied times the HTT speed, and should be kept below 1000 Mhz.
