I've been looking for a dual core processor, and I just want to know what the big deal is with the new socket 939 opterons. As far as I can tell, all the specs are the same besides for the codename of the core (denmark vs Toledo).
Both Have same specs:
Speed: 2.2GHZ
Cache L2: 1MBx2
SSE3 Support, rev. E stuff

Please clarify the differences for me (like overclockablility) besides the price.

Thx

They are known for overclocking really well... I am considering selling my 4400+ for ~350 to buy an Opty 170 but I'm worried because several people on Xtremesystems have had their boards die (even DFI) with these chips

They are speed binned. Basically, only the cores that pass the most rigorous of testing become the Opterons.
