Should be:
Opteron 170 for Price
Opteron 175 x11 Multiplier

Both should be outstanding OCers from what I've seen. The Opty 175s should be generally higher quality, although I don't think the extra multiplier matters that much besides giving more RAM flexibility.

then I would get a 175..more options with 11x multiplier and you have a higher starting speed....does not mean you will get higher but it will be easier to get 2700-2800

i tend to think that multipliers dun matter, get a 165 and spend 200dollar on the best ram out there, use a divider, done

That board is know to easily hit 300+ FSB so no reason not to get the 170 unless the 175 really isn't much more expensive . . .

Well it isnt much more expensive at all.. its just a matter of will I actually use the 11x multiplier and are the 175s better overclockers or such?

11X multipler would give much more room to toy around with, although I would recon your most likely drop the multipler and raise the FSB, as it unlikely with air cooling you will achieve 300 x 11 =3.3GHz, it more likely you get something like 9 x 300 =2.7GHz. Saying that the 175 would have been binned to a higher level, meaning its more likely to overclock better, plus the fact if your unlucky and have a motherboard that wont allow much on the FSB front you still have the higher multiplier so it possible to get a higher speed.

Its also worth noting that good RAM and good air cooling will play a major part in this overclock.
