Opteron 170 Not Recognizing Dual Channel Memory

I just got an AMD Opteron 170, which I'm running on an MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum. I have 2 GB of PNY Verto DDR500 ram, which the system recognizes fine, but it detects it as single channel. It does not detect dual channel regardless of how many sticks I install or what slots they are in.

I also have several sticks of Corsair XMS DDR400 ram, which is also recognized as single channel. Could this be a simple case of incompatability, or is there something I can do to correct this issue? Thanks in advance for all replies.
