Opteron 165 Temperature too hot?

I OC'ed my 165 to 2.34ghz with default voltage. I use arctic silver 5 with arctic freezer 64 pro.
I am running 2 prime95 and assigned each instance to each core and the Core Temp says Core#0: 55C, Core#1: 57C but TCasemax: 63C. Is it running too hot?

thanks.

My Opteron 165 ran the same temps , mid 50s while testing. It's OK. Arctic Silver cures after 200 hours. You might see a temp drop after 200 hours.

Edit... Just noticed you said yours was at 2.34GHz. Mine hit that temp when at 2.6GHz.
What's the room temp? You are probably still OK. Temp monitoring programs are notorious for being inaccurate

That does sound a bit warm, what is your Vcore? My 165 is at 1.4v Vcore and runs in the high 30s under moderate loads and mid to upper 40s when Priming using a Zalman 7000 ALcu.

I have my 4600 running @ 2.82GHz w/ 1.375 vcore and I get roughly those temps; of course, I just installed it last week, so my Arctic Silver 5 hasn't had the chance to fully cure yet. I'm not sure what the TCaseMax stands for, but it's 57 on mine (even though load temps sometimes hit 58-59). I don't really think I hit those upper temps unless I was priming both cores for at least an hour.

Temp monitoring programs are notorious for being inaccurate. Speedfan sometimes says my temps are LOWER than room temp. That's impossible. My temps did drop about 5 degrees after the Arctic Silver cured. Testing with Prime95 will usually be more of a load than your PC will normally see.

What thermal paste and how much are you using?
IHS on or off?

Since the OP said he's using the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 w/ AS5, I'll assume that your questions are directed at me. In my case, I'm also using AS5 as my thermal paste, and not all that much of it; I spread it out evenly across the CPU's heat spreader, and there wasn't any excess (spread out via part of a credit card pushed down and rotating/smearing the compound). My heatsink is an XP-90, though I'm unsure of what the fan is since it's some aftermarket fan that I had bought a year or two ago when I decided that I didn't like hearing the hairdryer (Tornado) in my case.

I'm using an SI-120 w/AC5 on my Opty 170 @ 2.4 1.43VCORE. I get 28C idle and high 30's to low 40's under full load. Your temps seem to be a bit high. I would check to make sure your hs is seated properly or that your thermal paste is applied evenly.
