Hello everyone!
I have a problem with an Opteron 165 and was wondering if any of you guys may have dealt with a similar problem. Here is a little history first: I ordered a 165 from an online vendor and before it arrived, I found a CCBBE for a great price on Ebay and bought it. I got the one purchased from the online vendor yesterday and it turned out to be a
CCB1E
, but when I installed it and turned on my system, everything came on but nothing on the monitor, so I thought it is DOA :-(
Today I got the CCBBE from Ebay, installed it, and starting testing. Got up to 2.8 on stock voltage before I had to bump it up to 1.4v. At this point I left the voltage at 1.4 and swapped processors (installed the CCB1E that I thought was DOA), and to my surprise system booted into windows.
Got up to 2.95 @ 1.41v with the CCB1E at which time I decided to clear the BIOS to see if the CCB1E would be recoginized. After clearing the BIOS, nothing on the monitor again :-(
Any thoughts what the problem could be with the CCB1E? Is it the processor or possibly my MB (MB has the latest BIOS and it is a DFI lanparty UT SLI-DR). Any ideas on how I can get around the problem? (It seems to be great OC'er but I'd hate to have to swap processors to jump start the CCB1E everytime I clear the BIOS).
Thanks in advance.
