go for 165 or 170. Also, price wise, it is not fair to compare oem to non oem (unless only one or the other is available).

I'll gladly take on that challenge, me with my Opty 165 and you with your X2 4800 (which cost hundreds of dollars more than mine).

Name the bench.

how much did you paid for 165 opty? I bought x2 4800+ for 224.00 back in September.

$157.

name the bench? hmmm PCmarks?

Both of you guys wanna try my Opty 175?

Heres her in resting mode

Of course im going to push her to 3.1 using the 150 divider and at 1.55V on my watercooling kit :D

And yes this pertains to this thread because this is the EXACT CPU from the SAME VENDOR he was debating about. :[ Sorry op, feel bad for ya

But i'll be willing to take the challanage :D

And no i dont think newegg will get more opty's unless your really lucky because AMD said they will not produce anymore S939 Opty.

Sorry op, you just lost your chance :p

Well the challenge is only for people with an X2 4800, and also, just because they aren't producing more 939 optys doesn't mean there aren't thousands of them sitting in the channel.

im still waiting for a challange. Because my opty 175 is most definitely a better chip then any 4800+ also i got it for 179.99 :D

And once again my steppings are CCBBE0617EPMW :D
CCBBE EPWM are proven 3.0+ghz overclockers BTW.
Only problem is there cold bugged, but im not going TEC on her nor am i going phase so it doesnt apply to me!

And yes the 4800+ is a nice cpu. But op since ur limited now, id find a ADV box version of the 4400+ on a 89W TDP setting.

MAKE SURE ITS ADV ON THE BOX AND NOT ADA. ADV is the 89W TDP version and it will produce less heat then the standard X2's and also clock higher.

In fact, 2.6ghz is almost given on the 89W 4400+ with less heat output then a opty 165.

Ditch the 4800+, try to find a 4400+ 89W version instead.

OP should get the Opty 175 for the 11x multi if his motherboard isn't capable of 300+ HTT. If he can reach 300HTT, then get the Opty 165 since it has the 9x multi. Personally I would probably opt for the 175 since I can only reach about 260-265 with my T-force 6100.

Anxious to hear what you end up getting

Disappointed - It arrived today with stepping

LCB9E 0646RPMW- I dont think I can hit over 2.6 on stock volts with it. I will give it a shot once I free up a hard disk.

Anyone wanna teach me how to OC' it? =oP

Thx u all for your help,
