***Opteron 165 Dual Core Overclocking Guide***

Ok i see so many people started threads for Opteron CPU, but all lack the simplicity and format to achieve the main goal. Which is to post the real results for the specific overclock processor & setting from which they achieved it.

We need to seperate these Opterons processors in their groups, so any body looking to find the answer for their specific model will not get confused.

This is coming from my experience as i have Opteron 165, and i was looking for the overclocking results but could not find any good thread which just talk about Opteron 165.

Every body is posting their results in every other thread, which creates a lot of confusion.

I am going to borrow a format from other threads which i really like thanx to who ever created it. So please just be specific about your overclock guide and results.

I wanna start my thread with my own experience. I had the problem with my Motherboard compatibility which i solved last night (thank God).

I reinstalled the Windows Xp Prof SP1 with out using SP2 with the new "nForce drivers for AMD" from Nvidia.com and it is running fine now. Looks like the main problem was between SP2 and nfoce Drivers, but i am not sure yet i will find out soon.

I want to mention that no body has to update any BIOS to any beta version who is using MSI Neo4 platinum SLi. I am using BIOS 3.7 which is the latest one they offer.

My results are after overclocking:

CPU: Opteron 165
Stepping: CCBWE
Overclocked speed: 2600MHZ
CPU voltage: 1.4
Idle temp: 33C
Load temp: 40C
Cooling: Thermaltake BigWater SE
Motherboard: MSI NEO4 PLATINUM SLI
Ram: PQI Turbo PC4000
Ram size: 2 X 512MB
Ram timings: 2.5 - 3 - 3 -7
Ram divider: I don;t know what the hell is this ( can somebody explain it to me)
Ram voltage: 2.8V

The strange thing about these Opterons is i can still boot into the windows with the default Vcore which is 1.35v.
What is the best Vcore for opteron 165, because i don;t wanna burn it by giving extra voltage, and does any body know what Voltage requirement for PQI Turbo PC4000 is?

Dude you did not read my thread carefully. This thread is just for Opteron 165 processor, by consolidate every thread makes it confuse for people to find what they are looking for.

I read your thread and it is confusing to find the right results, because there are all types of Opterons in there, which makes it hard to focus on one type of processor.
I am not looking for attention, looks like you are taking it personaly.

Not personally, but I've seen some of the stupid BS you pull on this forum and let's just say you are not my fav person around here.

Regardless, it seems stupid to post this crap all over the place; but do whatever. If you and others just fill out the little form thingie in the thread I made I'll put them all at the top and categorize them, doesn't seem to hard too me
