Opteron 165 - CCBBE 0615 EPMW

Opteron 165 Ccbbe 0615 Epmw. I've never heard of this stepping before. How do these OC? I can get one of these so I can sell my CCBWE 0607, because I want to reach ~2.8-3Ghz. I was going to get an Opteron 170, but since I can get one of these...

lol you post the same question in multiple forums 😛

I'm tellin ya, stepping is far more important than week. CCBBE are just like CCB1E, your standard dual core coldugged stepping that consistently hit 2.8 - 3 Ghz. And of course more on watercooling and even more with IHS removed.

Basically all Opterons that coldbug (CCBBE, CCB1E, CCB2E [fx60]) overclock pretty good, 2.8 to 3 Ghz. There are SOME trends, like from what i've seen, 0608s are the best, while 0610 and 0550 are pretty equal. But the gap there is pretty small, i mean CCB1E 0608 vs. CCBBE 0610 there's a very small gap. Compare it to a non-bugged stepping like CCBWE and you'll find something more like a 170 Mhz gap.

I would take ANY CCBBE over ANY CCBWE, probability wise that's the best. Unless you're trying to run on phase...

I've decided to just go ahead and buy it.

I'll be back with results for this new stepping in a couple of days when it arrives.

I've heard very good results on this stepping. If you're thinking about it, go ahead (if you're into socket 939 right now).

my CCBBE 0610 runs 2.7 on 1.37v and 2.9 at 1.425v I haven't gotten it stable at 3Ghz+ yet, but I haven't tried voltage over 1.45v It is OCCT stable at 3Ghz on 1.425v, but fails dual instances of prime95. So 3Ghz is benchmark stable on only 1.425v

EPMW?

CCBBE 0610 DPMW

I can get it to boot and run programs at 330x9 and only 1.425v but it is not prime95 stable and it need 1.525v to run prime95 stable at 330x9, but I ran prime95 for 17 hours and it passed w/ flying colors. I didn't want to give it any more voltage to get it over the 3Ghz mark and be stable, but it's so close that I'm sure with a voltage boost it'll make it there no problems

I'm currently running 312x9 for a nice 2.81Ghz at only 1.375v

Dang that's nice. Good spot to run at for everyday usage. I need 1.4v just to be prime stable at 2.7ghz with my CCB1E 0608MPMW.

I've seen a few ppl on another forum get pretty good results with a ccbbe 0615DPMW. Dunno if u made a typo or its just a different packaging code though. The few ppl i saw got 2.9 on air and 3ghz on water. I myself have seen a cbbe 0615DPMW and i'm tempted to get one myself too. But i also heard that monarch has these in stock right now.
