Opteron 165 at monarch?

Anyone know if this is a good overclocker? im buying the retail one for 325 on monarch but not sure if its a decent overclocker.

look closely at all these threads... most of them are opteron 170 or 165 =)

and yes they are most reaching 2600 no prob on stock =)

Monarch wont tell you the stepping so there is no way of telling just how high you can overclock it. 2.4 for sure and most likely 2.6 but there is no gurantee. Basically its a crap shoot range of 2.5 -2.7. I think you have a very good chance to hit 2.6 with one though providing your system is set up for it and your own knowledge it adequate. Ceiling is around 2.7 or a bit higher with air cooling.

there seem to be alot of 0550upmw and 0551upmw in the 165 and 170 variety coming out of monarch recently.

And if you buy now you'll probably get an 0551 or later... good luck with 0550.

www.tankguys.com will tell you the stepping. They also have also contribute a lot to this forum so you might want to check them out ansd see if their price is close.
