hi i am wondering if this processor would be good for gaming till 2007 summer, probably overclocked. im seeing a good deal here $311 cdn. is it worth it

You are only talking one year here so yes, as long as you have a decent video card then it should be fine. It is single core, but who knows how many games will take advantage of dual core within a year. Probably a few but this is a very fast single core so I can't see you having any problems. This is going for ~$275 at Newegg.com here in the States.
