Opteron 150

I just got a Opty 150, never used them before, and I was wondering do I need to use the AMD Opteron? Processor with AMD PowerNow!? Technology Driver?

This seems like a something similar to the X2 quiet and cool, controlling the cpu, etc..

But in my BIOS I shut off the Quiet and Cool and the CPU throttle, I've never really been into things controlling the cpu before, especially with all the problems the X2 seemed to have.

Anyhow what's the pros and cons with this AMD Opteron? Processor with AMD PowerNow!? Technology Driver?

You don't need it ...all it does is let CPU throttle up and down after changing power profile the in power settings control panel. What problems with X2 let alone "all the problems"?

Ok I won't install the drivers.

The LCD has a red pixel and a grey one, I hope the grey one isn't dead and I can fix them, so far I'm not happy. At first this thing was turning out great then the pixels start appearing, one then another, and even a third I rubbed out, BUT some sites I scroll the browser pages up and down the site gets a slight flicker to it as I scroll. I noticed this so far on only one site with color in the background.

Any ideas on these pixels to fix them, or try?

I'm going to give this page a try.
