Hi

I have just bought a opteron 146. Its currently running at 270fsb at 2.7ghz at stock with mem running at 1:1. Cant remember the stepping but is this one of the good ones or average ones? Also what could i expect out of this. My specs are in my sig for my HTPC

Lol...that gave me a laugh...no base for judgement but anyway... ;)
A "good" 146 may be able to reach 3GHz+, if your Mobo can keep up the pace.
If you get 2.7 on stock volts it's definitely a good one...Prime stable?

And welcome to ATF

That is nice for sure. A really good 146 will go 2.9Ghz+ with 1.55v or so. Make sure to keep an eye on temps and run some testing to ensure stability.

good stabilty testing measures:

OCCT- run the 30 minute torture test.

Prime 95- run small fft's for CPU testing and blend for cpu/memory testing

Hi thanks for the replies.

I have run prime95 for 7 hours and its stable. the memory is pc4400 so i am running 1:1. I will see how far it goes now :) considering i have a matx mobo which seems very good for overclocking for the type of board it is. also my temps are 38c idle and 49 full on stock amd. I am getting a amd fx cooler stock which i have heard good things about and which should lower temps considerably and i know it will fit in my small case. Will keep you all updated

p.s Also my htt is at 3x. SHould i leave it at 3x or should it be 4x? thanks
