Running prime95 for 2 hours 45c with xp120 and 120mm fan.
mb is 9npa+ ultra.

I can probably push it further but I'm afraid to raise voltage. Previous stable prime was 2.75 @ 1.5v

Also, If I decide to stop at this point what do I do next??? my htt is 3.
RAM is running at 166mhz it's ddr500 though. I can't find dividers in the bios.

Thanks

1.6V is definitely getting too high on air, 2.8GHz is a great overclock, not every 146 is going to hit 3GHz by a long shot.

How do you have your RAM running at 166MHz if you can't find dividers in the BIOS?

Well - there is a ram configuration ddr500, 433, 400, etc. As I've read it supposed to be like 4/5, 7/8 or something like that

I don't know what to do next - what to do with htt which is 3 and what to do with ram.

Thanks

those ddr 500, 433, 400... 333, 266, 200? settings are the divider... u just have to figure out which one is best for you!

if your FSB is under 250 u can run HTT @ x4 i.e. FSB<250 x4 = HTT< 1000

if its over 250+ then keep HTT at 3 else u will exceed 1000mhz

if you RAM is ddr400 you want to get it as close to 200mhz as possible... need to do some calculations on which divider will leave u at 200ish...

my FSB is 265 now and HTT is 4, I can go up to 280 - what can happen if I leave htt=4???

1.6 is a lot of voltage, it wouldn't run mine that high without water. Right now my 146 is at 2.71Ghz and 1.4 volts.

1.6V for single-core is perfectly fine, IMO - as long as you have the temperatures in check. A Single-core with 1.6V runs cooler than a dual-core with 1.4V from my experience.

I would not go past 1.6V with air cooling.

My Opteron 144 does 2.6 GHz @ 1.44V and 2.8 GHz @ 1.55V. See if you can cut the voltage and keep prime stability; otherwise you should be able to hit 2.9 GHz at that voltage.

FYI: I've had my opty146 @ 2800Mhz using 1.525VCore on stock cooler for 5+ months now 24/7 w/o a problem. Idle temp 34 degrees and load temp 52. :)

My 0607 CACJE APAW does 2.8GHz at 1.425v memtest86+, OCCT, SuperPI 32M, & 24hr+ Prime95 stable.
Had to crank voltage to 1.45v to do 2.81GHz, still currently testing stability at this frequency.

I would say 1.6v is a bit high for 2.8GHz, but every stepping achieves different results. YMMV.
2.8GHz is a very decent overclock, as stated above :)

45C is no sweat. I'm running ~50C load right now. Wouldn't go much higher than 50-55C although if it can be avoided
