Just plopped a new Operton 144 on my ASRock 939 Dual SATA mobo, and I notice in the BIOS that I can't adjust the CPU frequency. When I hit enter to adjust the value, it's just locked. Nothing happens. So I can't increase it above the default 200.

As for the multiplier, I can increase it above 9x in the BIOS, but then when I F10 to Save and Exit, it reverts back to the 9x setting.

This is happening with both the 1.4 BIOS and the OCWBETA3 BIOS.

The multiplier can't be locked by the chip right? Because I know people are overclocking. And I don't see any jumper setting in the manual for my mobo that would effect CPU frequency.

Help??

the multiplier is locked, to overclock you have to raise the HTT, whatever its called on the asrock board

I can't..... HTT / CPU Frequency doesn't budge. The value can not be changed. It is defaulting at 200 and I can't up it at all.

I'd be happy leaving the multiplier at 9x. But the dang frequency won't budge either!!!

You should be able to raise the bus to 270(2.44Ghz) on 1.2 bios. With beta2 and 1.55vcore mod you will get close to 300mhz(2.7Ghz).

When I click ENTER on the CPU Frequency in the BIOS, nothing happens. It does not allow me to change the value.

This happens in 1.40 and OCWBETA3.

Don't forget to lower the ram speed. At 270 with DDR400 the ram will be running overclocked. lower it to 333 or 266.

OK I feel like an idiot.... The BIOS *does* say hit ENTER to change the value. But + and - works instead.

Thanks.
