I dont know why but my opteron 144 CACJE 0546BPMW is a shi..
I need 1,6 vCore to get 2200 mhz and i can get more than 2250 becouse i dont wanna rise the vCore more than 1,62.
Does anyone know why my opteron with good stepping doesnt overclock well? Can the motherboard be the problem?

Abit kn8 ultra
Termaltake purepower 460 w

I dont have the memories sync with the CPU.

I got 2.8GHz with my Opty 144 CACJE 0546 prime stable, could push it to 2.85GHz but couldnt make 2.9 with my current set up. Maybe the problem is else where in your rig?

people are getting up to 300mhz fsb w/ that 144 opteron same stepping.
I cant say if 146 or 148 does as good same stepping
below is a link that a user w/ same 144 stepping overclocked pretty high. His name is funnyperson1. check his sig and read posts by him in that thread when he started overclocking his opty

I suspect either you've missed a setting or the motherboard isn't up to snuff for overclocking. Although I have a 148 and not a 144, check my sig. I've achieved this OC on stock voltages.
