Here is a list of the people you can opt out of:

MSN
Yahoo
Wired (although, they seem pretty innocent to me)

24/7 Media :|
DoubleClick :|
MediaPlex

Amazon
Ebay
AMEX

etc....

Here's the cookie/spam mail link!

You can also go here to print out some forms to tell telemarketers, junk mailers, etc to keep off your heinie... :)

<<24/7 Media is an online advertising and direct marketing company that maintains a substantial database of consumer information.

To be removed from 24/7 Media's marketing database, send an email to optout@247media.com.

Include your name, complete street address, city, state, ZIP code and email address.

And if we didn't have your info before, we do now!!!

Finally getting rid of doubleclick!- AdAware cleans it and it gets right back in!
Let's see if "opting out" drives a wooden stake through this vampire's heart!

Thanks

If Ad-aware is deleting the Doubleclick cookie, then you're opening the door again. Keep the Doubleclick cookie on your system, as it's now set to opt-out. Once Ad-aware removes it, you're a target again.

After you opt-out of DoubeClick, it puts an OPTOUT cookie on your system. When you run ad-aware and it finds this cookie, just add it to your exclude list so that it doesn't remove it everytime you run it. Same goes for most of the other companies...

Thank you for this fine post. I'm so sick of SPAM, I'm about to go postal (hey, is this a pun?). :D :D :D
