Opposing Force woes

Updated Half-life and OP with the latest and greatest updates but now when I try to Quickstart it comes up with this:

Could not connect to game server
Reason: Could not complete connection attempt.

I shut down my firewall and this problem still comes up. Tried it a couple times with a couple hours in between tries (thinking it might be the server) but I still get the error. Help!

Are you using a no-CD crack? I think that will cause that problem.

I don't have any no cd cracks or warez installed...bought both of the games

Also, when it says my .exe is out of date I try to update it and the game stops responding

It looks like you patched OpFor. But did you try patching Half Life? The patches for each are both different and separate.

Ahhh....Half-life was at 1.0.1.5, downloading the 50MB+ patch now

When I update the list of servers and try to connect to ANY Counterstrike game it tells me that it's a custom game and I don't have that custom game. WTF?

The latest HL patch I can find is the 1.0.1.4, can someone give me the link to .5,
