Opportunity to take on a different job...what to do?

Here's the deal: My current job title is "System Administrator", however my duty title is "Field Tech"...basically I help people with computer problems ranging from account lockouts to permissions problems and everything in between.

My company has a position open for a webmaster and I'm tempted to take it. I've always liked using my creative talents, but I don't know too much about being a webmaster. I'm also worried that I'd get "stuck" in the position and I like doing different things after a while. In fact, my biggest concern is that the customers I take care of will be left hanging if I take the webmaster job!

The question is, would it be worth it to put up with the headache of webpages or the boredom of doing menial tasks like I'm doing now? The money won't change...at least it won't be any less than it is now. What to do, what to do?

Well will it require coding asp scripts and such? Html = easy. Php = medium. Frontpage = hard.

I have a bad feeling it will require the use of FrontPage, which doesn't thrill me too much. Call me old-fashioned, but I would rather code in HTML rather than use FrontPage.

I am pretty sure you can "code" in HTML using frontpage. You can basically use it as a glorified version of notepad.
