Opportunity Knocks

My home was struck by lightning Memorial day. Blew out just about all of my network hardware (routers, switches and wireless ap's). I have take the opportunity to upgrade the routers and switches (hey only time I could justify it to the my boss (wife)).

But I need to guidance on what type of AP I should get. I would like it to support wave 2.x but I have not seen any consumer grade AP's out there that mention support. Any help would be appreciated.

EA8500 and RT-AC87R supports MU-MIMO, Is that the feature you want? Going to pay a premium for that though as it looks like they just came out very recently.

My personal preference is ubiquiti unifi AP's. Very stable and good speed. If you don't absolutely need AC, price for the regular units is hard to beat. AC one's are pricey at $299 each but one covers my 2,300 sq foot home easily.
