How about this? You make a "thin phone" for the people who do not care about battery life. Then instead of me buying a protective case you make a premade "awesome case" but it is not really a case and slap it on there. You can keep the thickness on part of the phone big enough so there is no camera bump and there is a headphone jack.

Oh and make sure it has wireless charging so I can just throw it on my desk when I work on a wireless charging mat.

Wow... no headphone jack and a battery smaller than any of the flagships of the last few years?

I'd take a Kindle Fire over that thing

While it's not up my alley, I think it's always cool when companies try something different. I don't get when people make the same remarks for every single phone that's announced. I personally prefer phablets, but that doesn't mean I should be demanding and/or expecting phablet specs every time a phone is announced.

I'd like to be able to hold this R5 and use it for a few minutes just to see how a smartphone that thin feels.

Edit: The little bluetooth adapter you can plug your headphones into looks kinda neat.

If they could pack in decent BT buds I see no problem. Its like apple when they told us we dont need floppy drives, or cd/dvd drives, or anything remotely updatable.

Personally I would have gone with either 2.5mm headphone socket or just bluetooth based headphones (with clip adapter) over the micro-usb adapter. It's easier to use a small 2.5mm > 3.5mm plug than a short cable.
