Here is some background.....I recently graduated with a bs in mathematics and minor in computer science and japanese. I am now employed doing IT stuff. I have 1.4 more years until I can apply to the MBA school I want to attend (they require a 2 year work experience prior to applying). I want to dual major in general finance and operations management.

Heres the dilemma, for some darn reason I have this strong urge to keep learning. Besides studying for my gmat, what should I do for the 1.4 years before I can apply to MBA school? Attend commnunity college and take some finance courses? Read lots and lots of finance related books from barnes and nobles? help?

Thanks in advance for any opinions or help.

When I studied for my MBA, my school didn't require any work experience since I got my BS from the same place. If you really want to do it, just get a lot of diversify work experience. I think cross training and work in different departments will help you in the long run. Think of it this way, if the company wants to cut back, who would they cut, a person can do several jobs or a person can only do one or two jobs?

Read text books/attend community college, and network <at school and various organizations> will be good too. In other word, never stop learning. Heck, I have a BS and MBA and now I want to go back and study some more.

Awesome, thank you for the great advice. Do you think its worth going to community college? Like would I learn anything there compared to a regular university?
