To start off with, this question is simialiar to the thread that Sofa started, but I need some info a little more specific to my problem. I can' afford to goof it up.
Now the problem, my CPU fan is EXTREMELY loud. It just started getting like this within the last couple of months, and I am getting to the point where I can't stand it. My processor is a 700Mhz slot A T-Bird, running with a cybercooler on a Epox 7KXA mobo. The system temperature usually stays at about 35 degrees celcious, it does not matter whether it is sitting idle or has been gaming for a couple of hours. The cybercooler is one of those big 3 fan jobs, so I am sure it puts a lot of air across the processor. So my question is... Can I unplug the cpu fan to get rid of the noise without burning up my processor?
I saw the video over at Tom's hardware with socket A T-Birds, and they lasted about a second. :Q I can't afford to do that to mine.
Thanks in advance for the comments.
