Opinions, please, of an idea: internal reports of companies, etc

I was thinking of creating and launching a web site where people can rate the companies they work for and give detailed descriptions of internal happenings, so that other people looking for jobs in a certain area (Chicago, San Fran, etc) can see what it's REALLY like to work for that company.

The site would also include journals of registered users, who can document their day-to-day hell (or heaven) at their current job, and others can read the journals.

I think this would be a great way to give people an honest, inside look at companies before deciding whether to work there. After all, when you're interviewing, you'll never encounter a discussion like this:

You: Where do you see your company heading in future years?
Employer: Well, we pretty much have no direction, actually. We may seem really productive and cool, but it's all a facade. The only revenue we've generated in three months is our clients' hosting fees.
You: [dumbfounded look] How is the compensation here?
Employer: We used to have a quarterly bonus. Then it became yearly. Now we can't afford much for bonuses, so the only compensation we provide besides salary is a severance package. [holds up a T-shirt and coffee mug]
You: I see. I'll be going now.

And this would all be free to register, of course. What do you think? Would you find this useful? Is this a site you would use and recommend to others?

Thanks for any input.

Yes, but only if they signed an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) or there existed some kind of provision in their contract that said they were disallowed from discussing any company business outside the company.

I mean, granted, they can't start talking about the inner workings of their technologies and/or projects most likely. But they are allowed to say things like "I broke both my legs and my boss STILL wanted me to come to work."
