I'im looking to upgrade my video card, and was looking at these two. Any comments (positive or negative) on either choice or both would be greatly appreciated.

There is only a $1 difference in the price of these two, so that's not really a concern.

and good call on the XFX 6600GT. I was posting the same thing.

Asus is a better brand, and it's clocked higher. But the Chaintech has more RAM, and it should be able to match the Asus' clocks. I think you'd be better off with a 128MB 6600GT. You should be able to find one for around $185.
 
you can get a used Leadtek 6600 vanilla for $70 at newegg
I would just get a 6600gt from leadtek...cheap, but best quality you can find 😉

and get 128mb
 
Ok, I fixed my original links. Sorry for the messed up ones. I also have another question that's related, and pretty important in the matter. My mobo is slightly older (from 2002), and the AGP slot is "rated" 4x/2x. An 8x card will still work right, I just won't get all the possible data transfer speed?
