Just purchased a JIUHB 1800+ DLT3C (retail box) at a local computer show...

Right now, I'm still using a Palomino 1600+ with the stock cooler from the 1800...

It seems that the SLK-700 with the Y.S. Tech TMD fan gives just about the best performance to noise to $$$ spent ratio of the setups out there.

Anyone have this setup?
Any opinions, folks?

I'd prefer not to spend the extra $$$ on the SLK-800U for what seems a very marginal benefit without putting a "jet engine" on it.

BTW, the price I'm looking at is @ crazypc.com ($37 for SLK-700 w/TMD fan +$7.30 ship).

Regards,

SB

slk800U is bolt on, which is a PITA if you install/uninstall more than once lol

i chose slk800 over mcx462 and pal8045 cuz of that very reason (slk800/slk800A come with a clip)

this is what i recommend...cheaper too (slk800A, pretty mcuh same as slk800)

or ifyou want slk800U (bolt on) then it can be found here for the same price (short of shipping...i dunno about that)

I looked around and around and around, but a SLK-700 w/TMD fan was going to cost more than I was willing to pay. I got an Aeroflow instead ($30 on ebay w/shipping - "Jacoby") and very happy.

you know what though? i HATED that stupid clip on the slk-800!!!

changing a processor with my swiftech mcw5000-a waterblock is SOOOO much easier :)

all i have to do keep my case in the upright position, rmove the waterblock... put in ina place where it won't interfere with removing my cpu... remove the cpu, pop in the new cpu... rub some as3 off the bottom of the waterblock and BAM... new cpu in in less than 3 minutes...
