Opinions on storage drive..

This is probably asked all the time but....

I am just trying to decide what type of storage drive to buy.

I use WinXP, so no advanced format stuff. Im looking size 1TB or lower. Always been kinda partial to WD, as I own many. My main storage right now is a 640 WD black, and its been very reliable, I love it. I just want to get one another storage drive thats reliable and decent price wise with good warranty. WD Black was my first choice, as reliability with 5 year warranty is badass, but kinda floating other options.

I am not that familiar with the newer samsung hard drives, I see some people recommending the samsung 500gb 1 platter drives or 1TB drives. I really dont know how reliable samsung hds are though since ive never owned any, nor do they seem the cheapest, nor have I ever dealt with their RMA service...

Since its a storage drive, it doesnt necessarily have to be the fastest thing in the world, I just dont want to deal with failures, as ive had enough of that fun in the past.

Heres kind of the price breakdown and stuff I was considering only looking at amazon.

Samsung 500GB F3(HD502HJ): $53
WD 640 Blue(WD6400AAKS): $56
WD 640 Black(WD6401AALS): $65
WD 1TB Green(WD10EARS) $64 or (WD10EADS): $70
Samsung 1TB F3(HD103SJ): $70
WD 1TB Blue(WD10EALS): $72
WD 1TB Black(WD1001FALS): $87

Are there any better model numbers im missing and what drive do you people recommend....

In my XP machine, I use a pair of WDC Black 320s in RAID1 for my data. Then that is backed up periodically to a USB external normally kept off line.

FishAK's link doesn't work for me - gets an "Ooops!"
