Hi. What originally brought me to the forums was the "hackintosh" thread in the All About Apple subforum. The thread's contents sparked my interest in OSx86, and I've consequently decided to build my own for the first time with the intent of creating a solid dual-boot OSX/XP machine for $750. I want something that will hold perform well/good in gaming, photo/video editing, and general use over the next 3 years.
As it's my first build, I thought I would post here some of the potential builds I've been eyeing in hopes of receiving some input. I'm not posting to discuss OSx86 or compatibility, though if you're aware of any OSx86 compatibility issues, comments are appreciated. What I really need at this point is help uncovering any questionable decisions I've made so far. I've put a lot of research into these, but I'll admit that after a few late nights some of the choices still feel very arbitrary. Prices include rebates and are taken from newegg.

If the presence of certain components seems odd to you, one explanation I can offer in advance is that the desire to have OSx86 compatible components drove some of the decision making. I can explain further in the case of replies. (For instance, though the HD3850 is a great deal and fits my budget and needs wonderfully, it hasn't agreed with OSx86 efforts at all--Nvidia GPUs, OTOH, play nice with OSx86).
