Asus K8T800 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket 940 CPU, Model "SK8V" Link

AMD Athlon 64 FX-51, 1MB L2 Cache w/ heatsink/fan

ASUS RADEON 9800XT Video Card, 256MB DDR, 256-bit, DVI/VIVO, 8X AGP

ENERMAX EG651P-VE Link

OCZ Enhanced Latency Series Dual Channel Kit 184 Pin 1GB Link

Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000RPM SATA Hard Drive

Western Digital 200GB 7200 RPM IDE w/ 8m buffer(already have this)

Plextor Black 8X DVD-RW/+RW Drive

I know this won't stay cutting edge for long, but what I'm looking for is long term usability. I want to beable to run games on this for a really long time. I don't plan to OC it now; however, as it gets outdated I plan to.

This beast wont overclock very much at all. Maybe to 2.4Ghz if you're very lucky.

I would advise either buying an Athlon64 3400+ which is much cheaper and offers basically the same performance. You also dont have to pay a premium for registered modules. With the $300 you save from this you could afford to buy 4 74GB Raptors in place of the 1 and get some very low latency PC3500 modules to overclock in the future.

My two cents...
