Well I think I have everything I need:

XP2100 tbred week 49
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
2x512 DDR400 Corsair XMS (CMX512-3200C2PT)
ATI All In Wonder Radeon 9700
TDK 52x24x48 CDRW
Cendyne 4x DVD-R\-RW
Enermax Whisper 431w
Koolance PC2 601 case (with cpu and video coolers)
Hard Drives- my old IBM deskstar 75gig (7200) and WD 1000BB (7200)
Using PCToys copper and silver cables for drives from COMPUSA

I plan on overclocking my 2100 once all is running.

1. Do I really need to use liquid cooling for the hard drives or can I can I just make sure they are not close to each other?
2. I would appreciate opinions on the memory, good choice? I was going to go with 2x256.
3. The case is black with a window on the side. What color neon do you think would look best in there?

Thank you for any input,
Cali

It is the IBM Deskstar 307075. 75gig 7200, I have had it for a while now and have had no problems.

Any comments on the set up???

Sounds like a killer rig.
1) Almost nobody uses liquid cooling in any way, shape or form. That's overkill and is reserved for the people that overclock only as a game. Make sure your case has good airflow and the hard drives will be fine.
2) You have way too much memory. Only use one of the 512MB sticks and send the other one to me. Seriously, what are you running? Heavy graphics apps, CAD/CAM and stuff like that will benefit from having a full gig, but for most things normal people are likely to do having a full gig of RAM is pretty extreme. You won't see much of a difference between 512 and 1024 most of the time.

I went with liquid cooling because of the noise , I do want a quiet system and do want to be able to overclock.

the setup looks pretty sweet. adding to what Gag mentioned with the ram, usually a single stick of ram will yield better OC'ing results vs 2 sticks.

btw, i had that drive for 2 years and 1 month. just crapped out last week! be sure to back up your stuff occasionally. i didn't. 🙁 luckily (???) it was mostly pr0n . . .

dayum nice system

i have no problem with gettin 1gb of ram, just my funds dont allow me to lol
if you have the funds, why the hell not

(plus theres dual channel goodness hahaha)

1. no not really...a fan is more than enough
2. i already commented on taht...but yah if you gots the bling, go for it
3. ive seen blue, green, and red neons in black cases...go to pimprig.com and see if you can make up your mind

...dont get a 3 in 1 cc lol....in my opinion, they look fukt up heh

so you think i'm lying?!? :| check it out

ChampionAtTufshop the 75 actually means 75GB, but that's definitely a 75GXP. :Q

and i completely spaced on the dual channel DDR w/ the nVidia chipset. still seems like alot though! 😀

No, I don't think you are lying.................. I genuinely appreciate the input. I have had my IBM drive for almost 2 yrs if not more and the all I can do is hope it doesn't die soon. If it does then I suppose I will have to get a new one.
I followed the link and I see what you mean about mine being a 75gxp......................just didn't see that on the drive.
I'll play with the memory and maybe change it to 2x256. I am using 2 sticks to make use of the Dual channel DDR.

Thanx,
Cali
