I am looking for a good cheap cdrw with decent software package. And I would like for it to be fairly reliable and not burn coasters. I have heard that you need to get one that does bit by bit writes for making "backups " of game cds . And I would also like to know can i just drag and drop zip files to a cdr as I download them or do I have to have 650 meg ready at one time. So lets have some discussion... creative 8432 maybe? acer? I know plextor is supposed to be the best but I doubt I can afford the name.... Unless they make for someone else under a different badge.... Thanks all!!

Whats your budget? I highly recommend the Yamaha 8x8x24 which is only $175 at Onvia's. Excellent burner for the money.

well I was really looking at about 100-150.00 .........And it doesnt have to be new... mainly looking for whats good and what to stay away from

Well... you can forget about Plextor for that budget. You can also forget about 8x, I cant seem to find an 8x burner for under $150. Look at this TEAC, it maybe exactly what you're looking for.

thanks I can get a 8432 creative for 139.99 @ Best Buy here locally but wasnt sure if it was a "Problem " drive 😀
