My dad got it. He will not be doing any serious gaming and the case is in our finished basement so it is generally around 65-70F down there ambient. Is this a decent case... he already ordered it so need fast responses.

That 420W PS must be crap. You'll have to buy a new one because a good 420W PS costs way more than 48$.

Not sure about hte case.

for something that cheap, it wont be any good. it'll be loud, weak, and psu will be weak.

With cases, you do get what you pay for. With that one, it looks like you'll be paying for the side window and looks - not the quality of components (see above re weak psu).

I agree with the above... Don't expect the PSU to last long, if at all, or for the case to be anything other than a noise maker. I see a lot of flash, but no substance from it. PLUS, it's a short case, which will make setting up the system more difficult for the person doing the assembly. As far as the cost goes, I've bought 430W PSU's for more than that case is selling for (Antec, True Power line). Hell, I paid more than that for the 380W that I was using for ~3 years (up until about 2-3 weeks ago, when I sold it, and it's STILL running strong). I've seen cheap PSU's crap out all over the place. Usually in cheap-assed cases that some schmuk used because he wanted to increase the profit margin and didn't care if he screwed the customer. I typically replace those with Antec, or Thermaltake PSU's, depending on what I have on hand and where my next order is coming from.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a Raidmax by mail order. They are made of flimsy metal (.7mm while the better cases are .8 or 1.0mm SECC). That plus the flimsiness of their packaging = frequent shipping damage. I think they use L&C power supplies (look for LCA or LCB in the model no.) which are also bottom feeders. That one may look sharp to those who like that sort of thing, but one could do a lot better with the same amount of money.

Well my dad already ordered it... is it bad enough that i should tell him to cancel the order? If so can you guys recommend a good case that is at max 50 and comes with a PSU?

Thx

Well, when you get the shipping insurance check, you will have another opportunity to pick a better case... ;) But if it does arrive in good shape and he uses the PSU as if it were rated at 300W instead of 400+, it should be OK - just don't expect to use it for a stepstool like my Chyang Fun would tolerate....
. Any Evercase 42x2 series or Athenatech 747 series would be a much better case if you can do without the bling... I used the Newegg case configurator using side window-Yes, ATX midtower-Yes, and $40. to $55. as the price range came up with two pages of cases many of which would have been better coices - esp. the Enermax units.

But what is so bad about it. My dad doesn't do serious gaming. He doesn't have heat issues, and he doesn't go around inside his computer unless hes upgrading. I need reasons why or he wont change is mind lol you guys (some of you parents so im sorry) know how parents are sometimes, no offense meant.

Low-quality power supplies can result in instability. That results in lost work and frustration, and possibly corrupted files, etc. A power-supply failure by any power supply can also take out other parts when it goes... once in a while we see people who heard a loud *POP* and now the majority of their system's toast, not just the PSU.

Here's my nominee: Antec SLK1650B, black budget case with Antec SL350 power supply It's got a 3-year warranty and a quality power supply. The sheet metal's probably a little light, but at least you have reason to expect the PSU to hold up. If you want a heavily-built case, the SX-series models definitely have some meat on their bones ;)
