opinions on ATI's clearances

Since I am in the market for a new monitor, maybe widescreen, would this ATI clearance for $179 and 3 year warranty be good for widescreen native in LCDs?

Depends on the games you're playing. For more recent games such as BF 2 or HL2 or Doom 3, Everquest 2, etc. I don't think the X800Pro can quite handle 1920x1200 at high quality. Maybe WoW and UT2004 but not many other recent games. 1600x1200 could possibly be playable if it is overclocked alot but still it's pushing things . . .

I would say if you're going with widescreen LCDs, and if you can afford that, why not just opt for a 7800GT? for *only* $150 more?

I think the x800 pro is still a decent capable card, especially seeing as with this ATI deal, people are claiming they are getting VIVO cards which almost always easily flash to at least XT speeds, all for $179. I think it's the best bang for buck you are going to get right now.

Because I am on a budget. I just bought a monitor for $335 as I say in my other thread.

17 or 19inch lcd w/ 1280x1024 native, the x800pro will be fine esp if it's a hl2 based game. but like others said, 1600x1200 and higher will be tough
