I'm looking a 93 storm and i was wondering if anyone here has had any direct experience with these cars. If so, how was the reliability, mileage, etc. This particular one seems to have been taken care of fairly well and is extremely clean inside and out. so far the bad point is the 3-spd automatic trans. Idealy i would like to find a manual, but i'd settle for the auto if it was atleast a 4spd.

thanks,

Well...I still see a lot of them on the road if that matters :)

As for milage, you should see high 30's to low 40's on the highway. Low 30's in town. The car was actually made by Suzuki I believe. Accelleration is non existant, as is seating space and saftey features.

Actually the car is surprisingly roomy for a 2-door hatchback. I'm sure acceleration would be better if it had the manual, but i know exactly what you mean by the nonexistant(i drove one this morning)

AHHHHHHH!!!

This is probably related to this one car I drove, and not all Storms, but when I test drove a 93 Storm the brakes failed! :Q :Q I pressed the brakes and trust me....no slowing!!!!!! I had to use the emergency to keep from ramming the guy in front of me at 50mph! :Q:Q Needless to say I didn't buy the car.

My friend's sister also had a Storm, and she said she had alot of troubles.

i'm not sure what your budget is, but i'm fairly certain you can get a much much better car than a Geo Storm for the price you're willing to pay. I'd recommend something else if you value your life. In a crash, you will die.

ok, maybe that's exaggerating a bit, but i thought it was a funny statement.

Here's the specs on the STD coupe.

It's decking in at a WHOPPING 95HP and 97lbs of torque!:Q.

For the $$, I'd look into an 88-92 Honda CRX.

'92 civic SI hatchback:

Horsepower: 125 hp @ 6600 rpm
Torque: 106 ft-lbs. @ 5200 rpm

Saftey ratings are questionable, reliablity vs. the storm is uncontestable.

My ex has one, either a 93 or a 94, with the automatic. It's been an ok car, but quite expensive to fix when it needs repair. The parts are quite costly, and it doesn't seem to be the easiest car to work on either. It took one garage 3 hours to replace the starter before they gave up....

The back seat is amazing, how they were able to sell this car, I don't know. An adult sits in the back seat with their head against the hatch glass. Any kind of impact from the rear, and your head would go right through it.. a lawyers dream.

It's not as good on gas as you might expect, with the automatic it spins over 4k at highway speeds.

I hope this helps.

Why not get a loaded 1988 Ford Festiva with totino's sized tires?

Tires/Food + Eggshell Transportation + Funeral Costs = ?
