Opinions needed...are my HD numbers low?

I kinda believe that the performance of my HDs is not as it's supposed to be...
These 500gb 7200.11 Barracudas with 32mb cache have been praised for their speed and I've been comparing them to results of some other people and I haven't seen anything miraculous....

Just wanted opinion from pros on their performance....
Both are on ICH9R RAID1....

Your numbers look about right. RAID only has a higher transfer rate when it's RAID 0. With RAID 1, it won't be any faster than a single disk.
