I know that this belongs in the forum issues eventually but I just wanted to run it by you guys/gals first. I was just making a reply to a post and I used two "bad" words. Of course the good ole forum caught it and made me change them.

I think that elite members should be allowed to have free rights to expression. As in elite members should have enough sense to use curse words responsibly. I know we have children in the forum but it is not like that don't know what sh*t and f*ck really are. The reason I think that elite members should be able to curse is simply because anyone can be a senior member and not everyone can be elite and the elite members have been around long enough to have some sense I think at least.

I know I am not an elite member but I assume I will be eventually since I have been around here for 2.5 years.

Just a thought. What do you think????

well i don't think you should have to edit it Red. I guess you don't agree with my thoughts on the subject.

Anyways, anyone else have an opinion?

That is true Red. I guess I still live in the good ole days on this forum when there were no whining babies and when they did come around we got rid of them quickly.

that would be ridiculous if the elite members could swear but we couldnt. jsut because a member is elite, means in no way that he is immune to the occasional immature squabble that goes on in here.

I can type those words out and I'm not an elite member!!

You can type 'em. I can wipe 'em.

the reason I feel that elite members should be able to is the simple fact that you don't get to be elite by the number of posts alone.

I figure an elite member has to have some sort of head on his/her shoulders. If you let everyone cuss when they wanted to them I do think this place would have lots of unnecessary foul language.

Since I see alot of people that are senior members and I don't think they should even get that title. But of course it is not my board and I know I can start my own if I don't like it here but of course I do. Just thought that an elite member should have a little more freedom to post what they want.

slipperyslope, really I think it's a non issue. Ask yourself if you or anyone would rather have a title or the abilty to speak in the real world.

no offense but that is the stupidest thing I have heard all day. Take a look at my post count. I don't post that much because I try to only post things that are useful. And sometimes when I posting something I just type what comes to my mind. Sometimes that contains cuss words. I hate having to edit them back out.

I know about the real world and the title doesn't mean sh*t to me but I think that if you get the title of elite member on this board then a few rules should be relaxed. One of the reasons I don't post that much also is because I am busy with school and when I do have free time I do get on my computer a bit to play some Diablo2 and read stuff around the forum. This has nothing to do with the "real" world. This is just something that has been bothering me since the Fusetalk was installed with the filters. I think fusetalk rocks and I understand the need for a general word filter.

The only reason I am thinking about this is before this forum got big there were no filters and I don't remember the moderators getting that involved in things.

whatever....we can end this now.

You have no control over what they do on a pvt bbs unless it's yours. That's the first thing you have to realize and not let it bother you too much. Say what you want to say and if it gets you banned so be it. I disagree with your original premise that curse words would be useful by the way. You assume too much. Find the proper words.
