I first looked at the 790fx-gd70, but I don't have the money to spend on something I can't fill the slots with 4 graphics cards.

I did a Newegg search for 1 PCIe slot and this board came up.

I already have waiting a Phenom x2.

Dude the MSI 790FX-GD70 is a DDR3 motherboard. Sell your DDR2 modules and buy yourself DDR3 memory.

You've been here since 2003 and expect DDR2 compatibility from a DDR3 board?

The kits don't make much of a difference. Pick one that looks like it has some sort of heatsinks and is cheap. DDR3 1333Mhz CL7 is probably the best deal. Like this here http://www.frys.com/product/57...sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
