So wife called me. Father-in-law is purchasing a company this month and they have the old company car (2004 Dodge Grand Caravan w/ 104K miles) for sale for $2500 and he wanted to know if we wanted it or not as we've been somehwat casually considering getting a minivan to haul the kids and their crap around).

I still have to call him to get the specifics on the van, but according to my wife, he said that its in VERY good shape isnide and out and has "every bell and whistle"

Now lets say it is in good shape and has lots of ammenties.... $2500 a good deal? I'm leary of buying anything with 104K miles on it.

I will update with more info once I get off the phone with him.

Thanks

$2500 is cheap for a 2 year old car, you wont find ANY car for that cost that is nearly that new.

Well thats the part I realize... its the 104K that worries me. Hell worse case is I buy it and sell it for $5000 the next day 🙂

Just watch out for the transmission. Trouble spot on late model Dodge / Chrysler / Plymouth minivans. Even if that did go out, you'd still be on top - that's a very good price for a 2 year old loaded up minivan.

And 104k is NOT a lot of miles for a modern car, despite what dealerships and advertisements would have you believe. This isn't 1958...
