I have had some incredible experiences on hallucenagenics, as well as some strange ones, and some outright insane ones. I think if you're keen and think you can handle it - try it. Be safe though, and know what you're taking.

Stimulants, depressants, etc are a different story of course. Some can be useful tools, but have downsides.
