I'm building a new pc and wanted some input on a cpu fan.
Just ordered:
AMD 2000+ T-bred
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
Antec SOHO server tower with 400 watt smart psu

Already have:
Maxtor 60 gig 7200
WD SE 120 gig 7200 8 meg cache
Lite-on 40x12x48x burner

Undecided:
cpu hs/fan
vid card (depends on remaining funds)

I'm not looking for a high end hs and fan. I can't afford that. I've read several threads and know most people say go that route but I don't plan on ocing. Will the thermaltake 6 Cu or Cu+ do the job? With the Cu+ nearly double the rpms is it considerably louder than the Cu? Noise is not really a big issue but price is at this point.
Where is a good place to get round cables?

Thanks for any help/ideas you have.

Check out http://www.svc.com/ for both the cables and HS. As long as you have no intention of OCing and have at least a bit of airflow the GC68 will do fine and is only $4.99.

Agreed. Or if you can spend a little more go with a Thermalright AX-7 or SK-7 with a YS Tech variable speed 80mm fan. Not sure if SVC has them, but www.2cooltek.com does

The Volcano 6cu+ is pretty loud. I have two of them in my dually rig, and they definitely generate some noise!

I'm not sure what exactly your budget is, but I would also suggest checking into a Thermalright heatsink. The SK7 would do great. The GC-68's aren't too bad, as long as you don't intend to overclock. The GC-69 has a 3 prong clip, but the clip is a PITA in my opinion.

I'll agree with LyNx01. I had a TT 6cu+ fan in my last PC case. It was pretty loud. Not nearly as loud as my Vantec Tornado, but still, it was loud.
