They and others thought so. I on the other hand find little of what O&A does to be funny, about on the same par as your thread talking about how much your feces stinks.
They only thing that offends me is when hypocritical stick in the butts like you think you can be a moral compass for others.
Well, if you weren't a "hypocritical stick in the butt" yourself, on different topics, that would really hurt. But since you think rape and poop are similar kinds of humor, I can't take your opinion very seriously.

Craving for unedited and explicit and offending contents? that's kind of pathetic. No wonder Jerry Springer did so well in America. Sad.
Wow, you pegged that one.

After 2 damn hours on hold I was finally able to get thought to a CSR to cancel...they went as far as to try to bribe me with 3 months free on both my radios. There's really no point left in satellite radio - after adding so many channels and straining the bandwidth, the sound quality of the music is about at the level of AM radio, which I'm sure will only get even worse after they merge if they plan on supporting all the older radios with more new programming. 4 years ago when I first subscribed it was awesome...sounded like a CD. Now its just garbage.
I said I don't have a problem with XM doing what they did except that they advertized that show as a no holds barred everything goes situation. This Forum doesn't advertise itself as such a place so such a comment would have consequences. On the other hand TFNN does advertise itself as such a place which is why it seems rather hypocritical that you who is in charge over there would come across as such a stiff stick in the butt Ninny regarding such a topic.Originally posted by: sixone

There was no joke, without some understanding of the act. And I guarantee, if someone was "joking" about raping your wife, they'd be out of here so fast, their head would spin. And at least that fast if it was posted on TFNN.

Al Sharpton had nothing to do with this
You can't go on the radio after a NCAA women's championship game and refer to one team as nappy headed hoes and jigaboos.
And you can't bring people on a show and let them talk about raping women, let alone national women at that.
If you and many other folks can't understand that, then seek counseling.

What about talking about raping men? Or offending another championship team?

Cancelled my account. They offered me free stuff, but I want XM to actually understand how much this pisses people off.
Was that show the only one you listenned to on XM?
Are there other satelite radio services?
Are you going to resubscribe when they are back on the air?
Is there a reactivation fee when you resubscribe?

Does anyone even understand that "freedom of speech" means that the GOVERNMENT is limited in what it can repress? Individual persons, corporations, broadcast networks can censor to their hearts' content. Everytime a company fires or suspends someone for something they said, the victim doesn't get to cry "freedom of speech" unless their employer was a government entity.
Stop with the whining about how this isn't really a free country because you can't go to work and tell your boss to blow you without getting fired.
The issue gets muddied when the FCC starts fining people because that IS the government. It gets muddied when public schools censor students because public schools are government run. Private companies and individuals should be encouraged to self-censor as appropriate. I don't scream "******" at work, it doesn't mean this isn't a free country.
As for O&A, I can't imagine anyone listening was offended, as everyone knows their schtick, and Howard's schtick, and all shock jock schtick. I don't have XM but don't you have to pay extra to get O&A? Who would pay to hear something that they know is going to offend them? This is part of the Imus backlash, and unfortunate. When shock jocks start apologizing you know the country has gotten too sensitive.

They had a homeless guy on who was talking about having sex with Condeliza rice and the first lady. You might not find it funny or appropriate but XM should not have any sensorship.
No, he was talking about RAPE. Don't play it down.
On an XL channel known for this kind of humor (XL meaning it is easily blockable). It was a little one-and-a-half minute bit in which O&A hardly took part - not saying they're not responsible - on an XM station that relies on its lack of censorship for many of its customers. I can think of far more 'edgy' things they've done, not sure why they're being singled out on this one...
It seems XM has standards to maintain.
It just seems strange to me that they've done so much 'worse,' and yet the second the national media catches wind of one of these bits (and, let's be honest, this was back-page news) XM backs down. Where were their standards before, if this is all about them 'doing the right thing?'

They've done worse than saying they really want to RAPE the First Lady? WTF kind of show is this?
