I think it's funny anyway. That's not the point. What you think is funny or anyone else is purely subjective. Just because you find it bad does not mean others do. It's a stupid joke.

And the fact that you can treat rape as a "stupid joke" is quite frightening to me. I hope you never have first- or second- hand experience with it.

It's an out of line comment. I don't promote rape but comedy that is blatantly out of line makes me laugh. It is not necessarily the actual comment but the fact that it was said at all is what makes me laugh.

And that's what scares me: that you care more about laughing than you do about the actual comment.

Of course I care more about laughing. What is the point of being all serious? If someone dislikes someone else and says "I could kill them". They're not actually going to kill them they are just mad. It is the same. No one is getting raped they just don't care for those people so made a brutal joke about them. It has nothing to do with condoning rape.

Do you think it would be funny if somebody was on air talking about sticking their c0ck in your @ss? Talking about committing acts of violence is not funny.

Opie and Anthony were a true inspiration to me. Whenever I read about those darn software engineers from India stealing our white collar jobs and those chinese workers stealing our blue collar jobs ... I always felt content in the knowledge that they could never touch our soul ... which is "Opie and Anthony".

We need more Opie and Anthony to stimulate our young generation so they can be easily enslaved by the Asian tigers.

This is a sad day for the US masses.

I hope they never have the gall to touch my other inspirational idol, Howard Stern.

Yes, that is funny.

You cannot be wrong thinking something is funny. People find different things funny, it's an opinion. You happen to think it is not funny, I do. Millions of other people find it funny. You probably find things funny that I don't think are funny.

aaah.. good ole United States of America..

A PC society that can't handle $hit! Everyone is offended by anything said.. and I mean.. any freaking thing. Its ridiculous! I can understand if this was on a public, FREE radio. but this was on XM, subscription based radio transmissions that users CAN choose to NOT listen to.

Isn't this country great

I'm sure in ten years if I fart in public I'll be reprimanded.

Not yet they didn't...
It's all over but the shouting. It's in progress and will happen. Essentially a done-deal.

"I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to my death your right to say it" ... Appropriate sig by the way...

This isn't about free speech. XM is a business, they exist to make money and will protect that above all else. Just like you can switch stations if you don't like them, XM can drop them if they don't like them. No one is censoring them, they could go out in public and say these things if they wanted to, XM just took away their delivery method.

Yeah this most certainly isn't "sensorship" ;), XM has every right to do what they did...

That being said, I think it sucks.. I love the O&A Show and will most likely cancel my XM sub if they are canned permanently.

So no one important? ****** censorship.

What scares me is people like you who get their panties in a twist because of a comment.

You mean right now, no one minds when you let one rip in public?

Considering I saw a news clip the other day about how some cities want to "ban" the "N" word, this doesn't surprise me. Freedom of speech as long as my speech doesn't offend your phony self-righteous moral code, then, whoa buddy, watch out. I guarantee the same people who were "offended" by this segment also laugh their @sses off when Patrice O'Neal does his "B1tch Management" show...as 'Lil Jimmy Norton has pointed out when people attack his act, you can't have it both ways. You can't say that jokes about black people are OK but jokes about rape are not.

Well, if the merger does go through most likely the Sirius "management" would have let O&A go in favor of Hoo Hoo Howie, so I was going to cancel my subscription anyway. I guess this just saved me a few extra months.

This whole thing is ridiculous. Opie and Anthony are talentless hacks without a wit between them, but I don't see anything about this that would justify a one-month subscription. XM really seems poorly run relative to Sirius - I can't imagine Mel Karmazin approving a suspension of Stern over a bit like this (particularly since Howard would have found a way to make it funny, whereas with Opie and Anthony it just sounds creepy).
