yea it does........ frickin a

/me runs to shitter

anyone else go through this before? oxy/methadone/fentanyl

sucks balls i tell ya that, i'm on day 5 now, im thinking another 5 days and i'll be almost normal

(my doses were at 120mg oxycodone/day, but i outsourced and usually took about 160mg sometimes more.)

so blah to the world and stuff.....mmhmm, gonna run to the bathroom again.

UPDATE: So its day 6, and the withdrawal still sucks but its starting to get better, I hope this doesn't last more than another few days..... aye corumba.. I lost 17 lbs in 5 days :-/ (I now weigh 142 lbs and my height is 6'1"

UPDATE #2: Day 7... well i'm feeling slightly better than yesterday, but still have muscle twitches, body fatigue, loss of appetite, and general weakness/lack of energy to do anything. However, it is getting better every day :) I can move around now, go to work (sit at a desk and not really have to get up more than 20 times a day)..... aside from all the leftover withdrawal symptoms the main thing is my energy level. If only I had the motivation to do things again. Oh well, in time. Cheers, and thanks everyone.

Ass.

How is he an ass? OP admitted to taking more than was prescribed, and buying some "elsewhere" for recreational use, he shouldn't be given any sympathy for what he has to go through now.

I agree though, good thing that you're getting off it. You'll feel much better in a few days :)

He was possibly taking 40mg more than his prescribed dose of 120mg. At that level, 40mg really isn't that much more.

He'd be feeling pretty much exactly the same if he had stopped taking opiates while he was consuming his prescribed dosage.

My original point stands.

120/day is nothing - i have patients thru my pharmacy that get 15 tabs of oxycontin 120mg / day, 7 in the morning, 8 at nite

and have you talked to your doc about suboxone? its a newer withdrawal med that can help alot of people wean off without alot of the euphoric or 'blah' feelings

after working in a detoxx and psych treatment facility, i will definitely disagree, benzo withdrawal is nothing near what opiate withdrawal is - the benzo user tends to have more relapses and end up back trying to withdrawal, but opiates, everything from oxycontin to heroin cause much worse physical withdrawals, as well as pyschotropic effects that we saw many times

I've never experienced either, but I do know for a fact that benzo withdrawal is pretty much the only withdrawal that one can actually die from.

ya- gotta pretty much drunk for years at a time- kinda funny, my dad would go out and buy some of his patients beer when they were in the ER/hospital so they wouldnt start sobering up when they were already in bad condition =)

I feel ya man!

On your daily dosage... that must be killer. But I do hear benzo WD is the worst of them all. I didnt do anywhere near that amount (about one 10mg 'done a day) yet WD started around day 2 and I was HURTIN': severe nausea, diarrhea, soreness, tiredness, plus the mental thing of no motivation, depression, blah blah. I was very surprised such symptoms appeared from such a small dosage. A vicious cycle I tell ya.

edit: Methadone WD is one of the worst from what I've heard and experienced. I hear people trying to get clean from it after being on it for 10 years. I couldnt imagine anything like that, seriously.

If you are still hurtin' bad, I'd check out The New Bluelight forums. Search the threads for opiate detox or widthdrawal or whatever... there's a few other things that ease the pain. I know Immodium is highly regarded on there for the shitter problems and from what I understand, it helps in other ways (??). Theres a few more too besides resorting to other drugs that in the long run would be worse (benzos) but IME even weed didnt do crap for the nausea when I was WD.

Methadone is quite possibly the worst opiate to become addicted to. Let alone actually do.

Let me put that in perspective, withdrawals from heroin last about two weeks, withdrawals from methadone last up to a month.
