OPGA/PGA: are there any Mobile 2500+ that don't work in desktops?

Hi all,

sorry for being such a newbie, but I have been out of the loop of anything CPU-related for a while, and I was wondering whether ALL 2500+ mobile bartons run in socket a mobos, and whether all of them have 1,45 vcore voltage...

The reason I ask is because all german online shops I checked specifically state some BS under "misc. specifications" of the Barton XP-M 2500+ that these CPUs dont run in desktop systems... and there seem to be different packages, one of them is called OPGA.. I searched for "OPGA" on the forums but it didnt yield any results, so sorry again if this has been asked tons of times...
I was also wondering whether "XP-M 2500+" is the official name of these bartons, and whether there are any XP-Ms based on different cores...

thanks in advance,

Hmmm, that's something I haven't heard about. But, I do know that if you buy the core that's supposed to run at it's rated speed at 1.45v, then it will work in a desktop board. The two other cores have a different pin layout (not socket A/462), so they can't be used in anything but a notebook. If you get one that's rated at 1.45v, it will work in any socket A board that supports a Barton, and in some that don't support Bartons. The board does have to support Athlon XP, of course.:D Get one, and you'll be happy, especially if you have any nForce2 board.
