Does the Opteron 165 come with the good heatsink with the heat pipes or the standard one like whats on my san D. 3700+?

What's the cheapest cpu that come with the good heat sink if the optron 165 doesnt?

thanks

It comes with a good heatsink. If you want silence, buy a XP-90 with a Yate Loon 92mm fan.

Someone just reviewed that HS which comes woth the Opterons. Overall, they were QUITE impressed...in fact, I think many were surprised at how well it *does* work. Keep in mind, that this is how well it COOLS - not necessarily how well it COOLS QUIETY. Follow Spud28's suggestion for icy quiet operation.

To be honest. I benchmarked both. My opteron 165 copper heatpipe sink is actually quieter than my xp-90 w/ panaflo so....I dunno how an yate loon would be quieter. This fan is dead quiet at full speed. I sold my xp-90 to keep this, I found it to be slightly cooler as well. I still have yet for my AS5 to break in, so it may end up even cooler. As of right now, my temps dropped 1C idle and load compared to my Xp-90. Id have to recommend the arctic freezer pro if you wanted to pay around $30ish for a good budget heatsink.

If silence is the highest priority, there are better options to be had for not much more money.

I ordered the Zalman 9500 at the same time I ordered the Opteron 165, so I've not tried the stock unit, but it looks to be a very nice way to get heatpipe cooling for free.

Its about the same size and dimensions of the stock block, and it is highly comparable to the stock cooler.

Yeah, AMD did it right with that heatsink.

I got OEM, so I had to get an XP-90. I am happy... ~30C idle in a warm room and hardly hits 40C on full load for both cores.
