It has come to our attention that the brothers, David and Charles Koch--the billionaire owners of Koch Industries--have long attempted to usurp American Democracy. Their actions to undermine the legitimate political process in Wisconsin are the final straw. Starting today we fight back.

Koch Industries, and oligarchs like them, have most recently started to manipulate the political agenda in Wisconsin. Governor Walker's union-busting budget plan contains a clause that went nearly un-noticed. This clause would allow the sale of publicly owned utility plants in Wisconsin to private parties (specifically, Koch Industries) at any price, no matter how low, without a public bidding process. The Koch's have helped to fuel the unrest in Wisconsin and the drive behind the bill to eliminate the collective bargaining power of unions in a bid to gain a monopoly over the state's power supplies.

The Koch brothers have made a science of fabricating 'grassroots' organizations and advertising campaigns to support them in an attempt to sway voters based on their falsehoods. Americans for Prosperity, Club for Growth and Citizens United are just a few of these organizations. In a world where corporate money has become the lifeblood of political influence, the labor unions are one of the few ways citizens have to fight against corporate greed. Anonymous cannot ignore the plight of the citizen-workers of Wisconsin, or the opportunity to fight for the people in America's broken political system. For these reasons, we feel that the Koch brothers threaten the United States democratic system and, by extension, all freedom-loving individuals everywhere. As such, we have no choice but to spread the word of the Koch brothers' political manipulation, their single-minded intent and the insidious truth of their actions in Wisconsin, for all to witness.

Anonymous hears the voice of the downtrodden American people, whose rights and liberties are being systematically removed one by one, even when their own government refuses to listen or worse - is complicit in these attacks. We are actively seeking vulnerabilities, but in the mean time we are calling for all supporters of true Democracy, and Freedom of The People, to boycott all Koch Industries' paper products. We welcome unions across the globe to join us in this boycott to show that you will not allow big business to dictate your freedom.

After Anonymous' rather successful campaigns against Scientology and their breakthrough hack of a cyber security firm which revealed corruption and conspiracy by Bank of America, several security firms and a powerful washington law firm, it looks like they're getting even more political now. The Koch brothers are, without a doubt, one of the biggest enemies of the middle class.

See the HBGary thread for more about the previous hack:

Anonymous is just an organization of people with a certain viewpoint who resort to illegal tactics when they don't get their way. Would the same people be such big supporters if they were attacking Islamic groups or Planned Parenthood? I doubt it.

I think our democracy can handle this legitimate dispute in Wisconsin by political means.

well, If you read the article, that is not at all what they are addressing. an overlooked measure in the current disputed bill would offer public industries up to no-bid contracts to private firms, especially to the Kochs who do a lot of their shell work in Wisconsin.

this is targeted at the Kochs, not at the current protests, really. Honestly, those fucks need more exposure. They already operate outside the law, and way outside of any kind of ethical standards.

with the Kochs, it's all about their shell groups. Not their business. They have a stable of fake private entities that do nothing that funnel massive amounts of money to fund political causes.

Nothing wrong with people spending money on what they believe in, but they do it illegally.

Anonymous really isn't an organization. What do you mean, 'get their way'? Their HBGary hack revealed a conspiracy by BOA and other nefarious organizations in targetting civil rights journalists like Glenn Greenwald, amongst others.

Unions have very little, if any power anymore. Corporatists have taken over our government and control it., THEY are the real threat. I wouldn't expect you to understand, you probably support astroturf groups like the tea party. The Koch brothers are the puppeteers and you are the puppets.

What is your point? They are obviously an organization. You like them because they do things you agree with, even though those things are illegal. Once again I doubt you would support them if they were doing illegal things in the name of conservative causes.

Serious question, cause I haven't heard anyone answer it yet...what does the WI stuff have to do with corporations? People keep bringing it up.

BTW, I hate am opposed to corporatists just as much or even more than government unions.

I had my own views before I even heard of the koch brothers or the tea party even existed (which I am not a member of and never intend to be)

Is he still doing that now? Has he screwed Americans over?

What has Buffet done?

Uh so it only matters if he's screwing americans right now?
Buffet also spends liberally on liberal causes.

I don't see why anonymouse or others who don't like the koch brothers spending money on politics shouldn't also look at soros and buffet if they really are concerned with money in politics...

Yeah, CAD has no idea what he's talking about. Just because the Koch's are Billionaires doesn't mean they aren't vulnerable.

Didn't suggest that you twit. But to suggest they should be scared or change because some anonymouse is targeting them is naive. They won't bat an eye at kiddies like anonymouse.
