Operating temperature...

What is the normal operating of an AMD K62-500 mhz cpu on a DFI motherboard? I believe the processor is overheating because sometimes my computer will just shutdown. I am running WinME. All drivers are updated; everything appears to be in working order. Any suggestions...

had a k62-500..temp around 115F all the time(or thereabouts..) ..also was running Win98 and only the cpu HSF and one intake 80mm and exhaust thru the PSU..I know..bad bad tsk tsk...
