Operating system boot menu

When I boot I get a list of windows vista 4 times. What do I edit so I can get it down to 1? I know I can just skip displaying the list but I'd also like to get rid of the extra 3 listings.

It is in the boot.ini file on yur boot drive. the file is hidden usually. Alternatively you can edit it (this is for XP, not sure if Vista is the same) through Control Panel > System Properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery

unfortunately, ms changed the way that the boot menu is, there is no more boot.ini it is now called bcd or boot configuration data.

easiest way that i have found to make changes with it is Vistabootpro or you can use the command line bcdedit as well
