Today, we want to share with you another big thing that you will first see in the developer channel for Opera for computers.

We are the first major browser maker to integrate an unlimited and free VPN or virtual private network. Now, you don’t have to download VPN extensions or pay for VPN subscriptions to access blocked websites and to shield your browsing when on public Wi-Fi.
Hmm...would this be enough to get a bigger market share?

They released Opera w/VPN support now, and I was playing around with the free VPN (must be enabled in settings), and, so far, it seems pretty fast.

Anyone else kick the tires of the free VPN in Opera? You find any issues?

By "VPN" you mean "route everything through our servers so that we can log everything and sell it to advertisers"?

Which, I guess, still meets the definition of a VPN but it's not what most people are looking for.

What's it say?

Also, is WebRTC disabled? https://www.browserleaks.com/webrtc#webrtc-disable

I block Opera VPN/proxies at my websites. LOL

Edit-

You know, I'm going to check this out and have a peak at its internals and what ASNs they use.
No leaks, yes, WebRTC is enabled.

That is what they all do...to make an extra buck.

To whom can I protest against the misuse of term "VPN" for "obfuscated routing"?
